Happy New Year!

I know this is a little late, but I guess it's better than never. Since the Afghanistan campaign is a coalition effort and we're working with the Polish on the Forward Operating Base (FOB), I got to spend New Year's with our Polish comrades. We had a huge bonfire and even some karaoke. Unfortunately the karaoke was led by the Poles and the bulk of their lyrics were some obscure Polish chants. Made it a little difficult to sing along. The night culminated with what the Poles do best . . . not thinking before acting. They opted to ring in the new year by setting off several flares into the night sky. It wasn't the brightest idea, excuse the pun, because it literally lit up the entire FOB and made is susceptible to mortar and rocket attacks. Fortunately our foes must have been celebrating the new year as well and decided to sit back and enjoy the fireworks display.

Hello my son. Happy New Year! Right after Christmas we went off to San Diego, LA, and Pasedena. The Tournament of Roses Parade and the Rose Bowl were fantastic (but Penn State was crushed)and visiting with Steve's family was the best. We miss you and love you. Come home safe. How bad is the enemy when you have friends like the Poles? Dad

Hi Drew Bear,

Happy New Year to you too. Ours was uneventful (translation: boring!). Get control of those Poles and have a safe new year. We missed you at the holidays!

Love,
Mamma Bear

Hey Drew-
Way to stereotype those Poles. I Guess they made it easy this time. We missed you at Camp Littlebighorn! I love you- Aud

Those in glass houses...

I'm sure the Poles would never stab a tree with their first pocket knife and nearly cut off their finger.

And I'll bet they wouldn't get a fork caught in their lip while their sister is trying to make a good impression at the family field hockey luncheon.

Those crazy Poles!

What are big brothers for except to embarass younger brothers?
