Coalition Forces (CF) have another mission of training and empowering the Afghan National Police (ANP) and Afghan National Army (ANA). Remember what I've been preaching from the beginning. We're ultimately trying to work ourselves out of a job here. To do that Police Mentoring Teams (PMTs) have been established to train and assist the ANP. Similarly Embedded Training Teams (ETTs) work closely with the ANA. The teams train new recruits and shadow the current ANP and ANA on missions. The ANP typically work from district centers and travel in Ford Ranger pick up trucks with a gunner who stands in the bed. Training the ANP has been difficult since corruption is prevalent and members have been known to desert their posts. With a typical monthly salary of $300 which is not consistently paid, you can't blame them for abandoning their job. I'm pictured with a few new friends that I've met at a nearby district center. They even gave me some nan (bread), rice, and some type of meat. I think the meat was a tongue and some vertebrae. Yum!

Thanks for another informative post and a nice picture of you :) Love you!
A little tongue will put some hair on your chest! Also, nice water bottle holder - it's like the bottle is levitating right by your side!
This food knowledge can only help with the new Food and Wine trivia at Bull Feeney's! We are current reigning champs...mostly because of Aud's mad skills:-)
Don't knock the water bottle clip until you try it. It's been very handy. Kids admire it as I give them the water bottle that was half drank.
