For all of my scenery lovers out there, here's a good one for you. This picture is from a recent mission where I went to assess the quality of a series of dams that are being funded by the PRT. The picture may appear straight forward, but if you look closely there are some hidden caves. Elders from the local village informed me that they hid and took shelter in these caves back in the 1980's, when Russia occupied Afghanistan. You've probably heard more recent stories about the search for Osama bin Laden in similar caves. Sorry, didn't find him.
My wild animal finds, however, expanded from a bird a few days ago to a tortoise and a viper on this mission. Tally it up, I've seen three wild animals in this seemingly uninhabitable country. I also saw a domestic animal picture worthy of being posted. Notice this Afghan leading his donkey into the gas station. "Fill 'er up!"

Hi Drew - glad to hear you had a good time with Audrey. Cheryl and I are planning our trip to see you in September. Can't wait!
No wonder he's so hard to find. Do you have a picture of the tortoise? I'm not going to comment on your next blog- you're bad.
I love you! Aud
