Revenge of the Sikh

A few blog posts ago, I gave you a short history lesson on the three primary tribes you'll find in Afghanistan. As a refresher, those tribes are Hazaran, Pashtun, and Tajik. There is one more tribe that I have discovered that is embedded into random areas of Afghanistan. That tribe is the Sikh (pronounced seek). The Sikh immigrated to Afghanistan a few hundred years ago from India. They are generally friendly and somewhat forward thinking. They claim no ties to India with their heritage being Afghan. Here I am with our doctor and a bunch of the Sikh villagers. In this village I'm looking at constructing an asphalt road that would connect them to the Ghazni "metropolis". Unlike most villages I visit, elders and villagers alike agree that a road is their number one priority proving their forward thinking. Afghans can rarely come to an agreement on what they want. They often each have their own prerogative.

Hi Andrew. I think someone brought this up before on a prior blog, but is your pistol easy to remove from your chest holster? Everyone looks friendly enough. The Afghan wardrobe is as diversified as the looks of the people. Be careful over there. Love, Dad.

My pistol is easy to remove. All it takes is pressing a button and it slides out. I'd rarely use that over my M4 though. The M4 has much greater range and that handle in the front snaps into a bipod for stability.
