With Spring officially here and the Afghan new year passed as of Saturday, 21 March (now it's the year 1388), all of the PRT funded projects are in full effect. This means I get to go out and ensure quality construction on the projects so that the Afghan contractors don't try to skimp on your tax dollars. Over 50 million of your tax dollars are entrusted with my engineering acumen as to whether these projects are up to Afghan code or not. You scared? I wouldn't worry about it. Here I am with the site engineer for a future asphalt road that passes through a bazaar and next to the Ghazni River. As you might recall from a previous post, these missions also give me the opportunity to meet celebrities such as The Muhamod Ali. This mission did not let me down either as I got a rare glimpse at the Beastie Boys hard at work.

Whoa, 50 million! Is that for the entire country?
Be careful out there!
The only thing I'm scared of is that mustache. Great pictures- love you! Aud
Now that is how you grow a mustache! Steve-O, take note. Hope that we can see you next month and your 'stache.
Wow! I'm learning so much with all your blogs, very cool! Love the pictures.
Stay Safe,
