You Asked For It

Here I am at day 10. Don't worry I still have two-thirds of a month remaining to grow a robust stache and win the comp. The competition is fierce as we have nearly twenty competitors. I am tied for the lead with my Senior Chief. Today I got several compliments on the mustache from random Afghans. I consider this the ultimate compliment as we've all seen their ability to grow a thick, full beard. The only downfall now is that the stache is in the itchy stage. Guys know what I'm talking about and hopefully none of you ladies can relate.

The guy behind me is our long awaited new engineer. PRTs are supposed to have two engineers and somehow we fell short. I'm thankful he's here since he cuts my workload in half. Corey's a submariner by trade, which fits in very well with our objective here in Ghazni. Almost as well as my aviation background. No big deal.

Hi Drew. Your stache looks good, but you have a way to go to beat your Dad. His is mighty fine! Lucky for you, I guess that means it's in your genes. Good luck with the competition. Is there a prize? Stay safe.
Love, Mom

Hi Andrew,
How can Corey be a submariner with a USAF badge on his left arm? Anyway, thanks for the look at the 10 day mustache. Remember, I gave you those genes, so make your papa proud! Love, Dad

I see sixteen-year-olds everyday with better staches than that, Drew. You'd better get growing. Love you!!! Audrey

A trophy is being built for the winner. If you look closely at Corey's patch it says ISAF which stands for International Security Assistance Force. NATO Coalition Forces fall under this. I guess I'll just have to keep growing this mustache, which means coming home on leave with it so that I can beat out your sixteen year olds, Aud.
